Shalwar Kameez Pattern Dvd

processing Part 2 Part

recently had the opportunity to participate in Interactive? BH in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. And one of the things that struck me was the use of language Processing in all projects regardless of their complexity. Upon returning to Colombia , the first thing I did was get a couple of books and start studying this language and above all, to start looking for a teaching methodology to teach my art students.
The next few weeks I want to address several problems and solutions they've come, hoping they can be useful for other teachers, as Processing is free, runs on Linux, Mac Windows and is very easy to learn and to teach art students and there are many free resources on the Internet.
Currently I have 2 groups that I'm teaching processing The two students made very similar, although I am applying methodologies vary somewhat.
the first group, where most students had no experience in programming , I started to generate a number of years in Scratch, to learn the basics and build confidence in front of their abilities.
The second group, which has basic knowledge of ActionScript , brought you the first class to processing.
first thing I noticed with this differentiation is that students who began using Scratch , They have operated much better about important concepts such as loops, conditionals and variables. For the second group these issues have been rather more complicated, requiring many explanations and even, in some cases, forcing the teacher to use graphics and visual aids.

During this process I learned a lot about the art students, their expectations in new media arts in our local context, their preconceived ideas about their own abilities against the middle and especially language and the capabilities of my students to address new problems , transform their favor and initiate creative processes. In posts that I will perform the next weeks I will address these problems, and methodological problems I've encountered since I am currently in the middle of the semester and you begin to see the results of work in classroom, many students who had problems at the beginning of the semester today are developing small programs using complex tools.
A comment I want to do before completing this post: As this is the first time I am teaching a programming language my students, to construct the methodology, I based on the book Learning Processing , A beginners guide to images Programming, Animation , And Interaction of Daniel Shiffman . Which is available in BLAA . This book has been quite useful, because although not designed to support classroom work, the distribution of topics is organized so that arts students can better understand the content.
